At the end of 2015, I purchased a Canon 5D iii for the business. It’s been awhile since I’ve taken photos with something other than my phone, so I felt like I needed to get back ‘into shape’ taking & editing great photos. Lucky for me I have a great model at home that doesn’t mind smiling for the camera whenever I pull out the camera.
I started a Photo a Day Challenge for myself in 2016 and while it’s been difficult to keep up with the pace to get one good shot a day, it’s been awesomely rewarding. It’s a time for me to put my work down for a minute to hang out with my daughter in the mornings or evenings or forcing me to look at the world around me and see things in a new light. Even though my days are nearly all spent at my desk, I’m forced out of my comfort zone a little to get a photo that I feel represents the day.
I’m enjoying every minute of it, and am glad to hear that some of my friends are too. Hearing from people while out and about that they’re excited about what I’m up to with this project will keep me going.
The photo above is my favorite for the month. There were a bunch of really great ones in January, but the picture of Scarlett & Kelly doing yoga in the living room came together perfect and I love it. Hope you enjoy looking through these as much as I did taking them!
