Having a strategy means having a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim/goal. That being said, the first step in forming an effective marketing strategy is to define your goals.
The goals that are set in place will be what drives your actions. How are you going to reach those goals? What steps will you take along the way? Before we get to the actual planning though, there are a few other questions that should be asked.
- Who is your target audience?
- What is your competitive advantage?
- Do you have a specific budget?
When these questions are answered, you can start to lay out how you are going to reach the audience you have deemed valuable to your business, and what message you will be putting in front of them to reach your defined goals.
