This week on the podcast, Ellen, Elli, and John continue the conversation of what to expect when you start a website design project. Previously, we discussed what the process will look from the time you first reach out to us, to when you sign the proposal and we kick your project off. We pick up this week talking about what the “kickoff meeting” will look like, and what you should have prepared.
One of this first things to understand is how long the website build process is going to take. Depending on what the client already has prepared in terms of content, and the functionality needed for the website, the typical website build will take around 12 to 14 weeks to complete. This timeline is also highly dependent on the responsiveness of the client and the content process, so the more the client is able to provide us up front, the smoother the process will go. Another helpful tip for clients when working with us is to be as detailed as possible about what you want to see on your website, and be honest with us about what you like or don’t like when we start sending drafts of the site. This will help reduce the number of edits we have to make, ultimately keeping the project on track to meet the timeline goal.
